I just ordered a Davico Y pipe to hopefully clear up my P0430 code and quiet up the exhaust. I ordered from Rock Auto and it was between Davico and Bosal. I saw more complaints about the Bosal not fitting than Davico. I'm taking it to an exhaust shop to install and he can bend the pipe if needed to get a good fit.

The Davico pipe i order fit for the most part. We had to do a small amount of welding towards the rear. No problems so far. You shouldn't have to bend anything.

The shop said they had to heat up and bend the pipe a little to get it to fit flush and the included metal gaskets weren't the exact right size, but they got it all to work. The P0430 code is now finally gone.

My 02 LS430 has lately got very noisy due some leaks in Y pipe and one muffler. Planning on replacing both with an aftermarket one. The few choices for Y pipe are Davico, Bosal, Eastern Catalytic, Benchmark, Magnaflow. Is magnaflow/Eastern Catalytic any better than others to justify higher price or should I just go with the least expensive which would be Davico. Any difference in noise level with an aftermarket one as compared to OE ?

Is walker a good choice for aftermarket muffler or should I go with OE ? Not looking for a performance muffler. What is recommended aftermarket Y pipe and muffler to make it as quiet as it was intended to be. TIA for any suggestions.

I would have your mechanic leave the heat shield off the Y pipe when it's reinstalled. I see in my service history that my 05 has also had it's Y pipe replaced. It's the road salt it gets in between the shield and the Y pipe causing it to rot away prematurely. Mine's an Ohio car and it's a common issue on the LS in rust belt states.
