Default optima battery users inside please

Lexus battery is on it's last legs and died twice at the tint shop while they were doing my Windows.

Getting ready to purchase and can't decide between red or yellow top.

Also how is fitment in the battery tray?

Ordered a figs engineering battery bracket as well to help.

I had the yellow top in my LS400. No problems with fitment. I would purchase again once the Interstate battery that came with my car starts to fail.

Optima is just not the brand it used to be, lots and lots of complaints. At one time (like 10-15 years ago) I think they were worth the premium but I think it's more about marketing now.

I've owned both red and yellow top Optimas, but they weren't for the LS. I had one fail rather quickly on me. Unless you do a lot of things with the car with the ignition off (like playing the stereo a lot) you shouldn't need a deep cycle battery (yellow top)

I personally think Optimas aren't worth the price hike, Consumer Reports did a study and found WalMart and Costco to be some of the best on the market according to their tests. You could buy 2-3 of those for the price of a single Optima battery.

Almost all car batteries now come from 1 of 2 manufacturers, it's all just labels and different retailers offering different warranties.

Have no experience with Optima batteries. Since I am a serious cheapskate I go with Wal-mart Evermax battery - $85 and 3 year full replacement warranty. They have been flawless in our cars. Don;t have one in the LS because its still on its original OEM Panasonic battery but when it does die I'll be off to Wally world to get a battery.

If you want a good AGM battery, go with Kinetik, made for high end audio. I can leave my dome light on for weeks in my other car and it will still start. I also have one that is 8 years old and still holds a charge fine. You'll pay $250 for it but definitely worth it

Installed optima yellow top group 35 battery today with the FIGS engineering billet bracket. Bracket is much nicer and way more sturdy than the junk stock one.

Make sure to use the supplied tray with the optima battery otherwise the J hooks do not have enough thread to tighten down properly.

Bracket does come in slight contact with the fuse box cover. I used a rubber spacer underneath it for piece of mind.
