Default Wheel Refinishing Costs

Got a lot of curb rashing on all four wheels. Dealer offers to repair and make look like new for $500 for all 4 wheels total. Not going to do it myself. Is this a fair price?

Are they chrome wheels? For a dealership that sounds like a good price.

No, regular 17" OEMs painted alloys.

That's a little high since they're only 17"s and not chrome. I would say $400 would be a good deal. $500 can get you a clean used set of OEM wheels with tires.

sounds like a lot but $125 a wheel for a professional refinishing is about the rate.

They would remove the tires, clean your lips, fix your curb rashes , prime and paint.

Personally id put the $500 towards a new set of wheels but that's just me .

I didn't even check the price of a new OEM wheel. Can I get a set for $500?

like you wouldn't wanna buy a new set of wheels instead of repairing old factory ones? especially considering how much they cost to do...

Back in 2004, I was quoted about $85 per wheel for OEM BMW 17" basketweaves. So, $100 per wheel in today's dollars sounds about right.

They re-sanded and repainted each wheel, mobile operation...done on my driveway. Turned out great.

I've looked online and can't find a set of factory wheels for $500. Sewell has them for $410 each.

Search the 'net. I'm considering swapping my factory 18s with this eBay version. Got rash on 3 of 4 but buying these leaves me with no "down-time".

A brand new set would be expensive. Usually you can find a good condition set for $500 or less depending which set of OEM Lexus wheels you want. Checking your local Craigslist might be a good idea.

Getting your current wheels refinished isn't a bad idea if you like your current wheels.

I had my old set of 20" HR3 sand blasted and powder coated for I think $250 total. The original clear coat started to peel which is why I went this route. Finished set in my signature.
