Default Preserving air suspension bladders?

I have an idea and I would like some input. If the most common failure of the air shocks is related to cracking of the rubber air bladders, then why not apply Shin Etsu or a similar product on the outside of the air bladder to help prevent dry rot and cracking? If the cracking occurs from the inside out then I realize this would be pointless but just throwing around an idea. I used the Shin Etsu grease on my door seals and it works great. Why not the airbag bladder? Any thoughts?

The air bag itself is not usually the problem. The most common problem is the seals in the shock absorber that runs through the bag. With that being said your idea I think would be worth it. Think of it like a tire ( which is also made out of rubber ), when a tire gets old and really dry it usually rides a little stiffer. That being said I would assume the softer the bag the better the ride would be. Now would we notice the difference in ride quality? I don't know. Just my thoughts.

I'm looking at this as a longevity standpoint. I was under the impression that air and hydraulic oil will leak through cracks or pin holes in the bag. It's not too uncommon for people to even use tire slime on airbags but I can't imagine this would be good for the system.
