My Dad's 2003 LS430 has a bad ballast on one side, so the HID bulb is not illuminating.

We pulled the ballast, harness, bulb out.... and it's obviously corroded and in need of replacement.

Can someone advise me on how simple and IF it will work to use an aftermarket HID kit with new ballast, harness, and bulbs. Does the harness from this type of kit plug directly into a connector on the Lexus?

Please do not tell me to search, I've searched and I can't find a CLEAR answer to my topic.

Ballast connectors are just positive and negative. You can splice the wires and make any 35 watt ballast work. If it's a generic ballast with AMP connectors, you can get a AMP to D2S/D2R adapter on ebay.

Since we need just one ballast, I was thinking about buying a used pull from a junk yard, there's some on eBay for about $80. Then I could order two new DR2 bulbs from Xenon Depot for $60/pair.
