Hello peeps,
I'm facing a problem which I bet a lot of other users are facing.

Don't you just hate it how the seatbelt retracting time becomes so slow. Like it's almost stuck. Most of the time, when I want to get out of the car. I would have to actually manually push the seatbelt for it to retract and not to do dangle.

Anybody who has some help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

our car is doing the same thing. i would like to hear if there is a fix for it.

mine does the same, both passenger and driver side.

I know that somewhere a part needs to be greased, but I don't know where exactly.
So if somebody had did that before, please enlighten us.

if you car is under ten years old the dealer should fix it free.call and ask your dealer.
i did it with my s2000 and they fix it free.safety issue.

I believe Honda, are the only manufacturer who will honor lifetime warranty, for seat belts.

After quite a bit of research, I found that only Honda provides this free seatbelt maintenance. Not Lexus.

I remember about 10 years ago getting a kit in the mail to fix the problem. I don't remember which company sent it to me at the time,though - ( I had a 98ES and a 99 Acura at the time. Anyhow, one company sent me a kit consisting of alcohol pads and thin Teflon stickers.

The instructions were to thoroughly clean all the dirt/gunk out of the plastic loops that the belt passes thru on the pillar. When clean, instructions were to then attach Teflon sticker to inside of loop that seatbelt rubs against when moving.

I did it, and it worked fine then. I looked at my cars now, and there are no Teflon stickers there any longer, so it must have been my Acura. I would assume we should be keeping those guides clean - I just looked at mine, and there is black stuff in there now. I suppose we should also be cleaning our belts somehow - maybe with rubbing alcohol.

Hi. I had the same problem, I found that if you pull the belt out fully and lightly coat with silicon spray then let the belt retract and pull out again three or four times and it improves the operation. Hope this helps
