Default What price to expect to pay for a low mile LS430...?

I'm in the market for a 2010-2011 LS460, but as I've loved the LS430 for years, I'd buy a low mile car in a cinch so long as the price was good - but that seems to be my issue. I'm seeing a lot of 25K-40K mile cars on Ebay, Cars.com and AT, but the asking prices are around $25K to $28K. That's a lot of money IMO for an out-of-warranty car. I know the quality and reliability is there, but is that what I should be expecting to pay for a car in that mileage range?

I'm trying to find a low-mile, non-NAV car, which is hard enough as it is. Any color but Black (BTDT - I already have a full-time job). I don't mind driving older cars - my next-door neighbor drives a 2000 green LS400 w/ 130K and aside from a couple dings looks like a new car. Do I need to reset my purchase-price expectations? Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.....

Expand your search to maybe 100 miles or so and be patient. There were a lot of LS430s made but people tend to hang on to the good ones. But good ones do come up on a regular basis but it can take a while (several months) to find a nice example at the right price.

You want an 460 or 430? Get an aftermarket warrantee but the beauty of these cars is they do not break and are easy to fix if ya hang with us!!

Truthfully, although you are looking for a low mileage car, some the exceptional values out there are LS430 with "average mileage" for it's age. These cars if well maintained are basically "forever cars" and the prices can be a super bang for the buck considering how over built these cars are. You will more likely have to pay premium dollars (although there are some exceptions) for a one or two owner low mileage LS430. Gold and Green cars can be somewhat softer if your a buyer for them. Either way, these are great cars and more than likely you won't be seeing Lexus or any other manufacturer building as bullet proof a car as these in our lifetime. Good luck with your purchase.

Be patient & consistently check local craigslist's.

In Seattle I recently purchased a 2002 LS430 w/Nav with 14,413 miles for $18,900. I checked to be sure it had been maintained. Lexus confirmed one owner who had thorough Lexus servicing, even three 30,000 mile services. Hang in there patiently. They're out there.

Good luck with your purchase.

2002 with 14k miles?

Auto Trader is another good source. The 430's seem to be less problematic and defiantly less expensive to fix vs the 460's

I was told that all traded in vehicles for Tesla's are farmed out to Auto Nation car dealerships. It might be worthwhile to check out local Auto Nation used car deals. Apparently each Auto Nation location has access to their nationwide used car inventory. Note- I have not verified this, but I did locate my low mileage 430 @ Auto Nation Hyundai. Odd, eh?

It's the same deal with Hendrick Chevy dealers. They will transport a car across the country for you. I was looking at this car before I purchased mine. Check out the roof. What's up with that?

Okay, so based on the feedback (which has been excellent), how would you guys rate the starting price vs. mileage of this car. It's a 2004 that's close to me. I went to see it last Sunday but didn't know the asking price until posting it here.

My only concern is the NAV. Are these still updatable to current maps? Do these breakdown over time requiring expensive repair?

The nav DVD is updatable - a new version (13.1) should be coming out in late September.
There are only a very few reports on Club Lexus about reliability problems with it, so it does not seem to be a problem area.

Nav are not known to be problematic but if you have a small accident and the nav cracks then cost to replace would be $6500.
Always make sure that you have good insurance with luxury cars.
