What is the override shortcut? Never heard of it. How do you get to it?

Thanks,

Version 5.1 and earlier had the override function. It was removed in 6.1 and later.
I would be very surprised if it would be included again.

Take the best mechanical engineers in world to design the car then hire dropouts to make the software updates for it and you will end up with a LS430

I think it was lawyers rather than software developers that made the decision.
However, you have probably correctly characterized them.

Default Override screen

This is a screen shot of the "override" screen. The override option was deleted in version 6.1.

My override does not look like that. On my 2005 LS you go to the volume screen and press the upper and lower left corners UL, LL, UL, LL, and it takes you to a maintenance screen. press and hold override then back, back. THere is a video on youtube. Do it at your own risk.
Can anyone provide a screen shot of the latest maps? Are the colors updated or anything more useful added?

Talking

:-) Couples of years back I found a video on youtube on how to override the GPS lock with recent updates.

The guy takes 3minutes to demonstrate an outrageously complex procedure (I think he is making it up on the fly) Then he finally stuck a Garmin right on the LS430 screen.

At first I was starting to take notes then I told myself wait a minute... Is this guy serious?

Then when he placed the Garmin on the screen I started laughing my lungs out.

I couldn't find this video anymore. I surely wanted to post it in this thread.

The interface looks the same as before, few background texture items added and some more map detail but overall looks the same as before
