I just found out that the 01-03 LS430s have upper and lower gloveboxes while the 04-06 has a big single one. Does anyone know why it changed? It seems pretty cool to have two. Is there any way to put the dual glovebox in the 04-06 LS?

 

The 04+ gained a knee airbag for the passenger instead.

 

My passengers will now be glad to know that there is a knee airbag in there. Still learning new things about my car after so many years of ownership.
Is there a knee airbag for driver?

Yes indeed. If you poke around the area on both sides with a flashlight you should see the lettering indented in the cover to that effect.
