Default How do I show the mpg reading on the dash?

I saw this and I'm wondering how I do this on mine. It's an ad from the same year so I assume there is a way. Would be really nice to see the mpg while driving.

On the right on your steering wheel you'll find Disp 1, Disp 2 and Reset buttons.
Disp 1 is the button you need, press it and a left display (under the tachometer) will show approx range in miles, current MPG, average MPG, average speed, miles driven on tank etc.

That's interesting! I noticed a couple days ago that display 1 and display 2 do nothing. Maybe I have a fuse out? I'm going to try and play around with it and see if I can get it to work.

that particular photo, the compass is only there for non-navigation equipped LS430s. If you have the nav, the compass is then relocated to the center dash. I have the CL trim, so when I press Disp1 on right side of steering wheel, it toggles through the various trip items. Disp2 only changes the cruise guidance distances.

On my 01 (no navi, no ml), Click and hold Display 2 to change the middle display between "Compass" to "Outside Temp" and to display nothing.

Unfortunately, the compass is not displayed on cars that have Navigation.

Unfortunately this one doesn't have Nav but it was the only local pearl white for sale.

So I definetly have the display section but even after turning the car running and holding down display 2 for 10 seconds, holding it off and on for 3 seconds, holding all 3 buttons, etc. I couldn't get it to display anything. I did hear a beep the first time I help display 2 after around 10 seconds. Is this a common issue?

The car is stock, the flashlight made the gauges look blue.

Thats odd nothing is displayed. Display 1 should change just by pressing the button (>1 second). I would guess you have a fuse out or something is wrong with the display itself.

I have ~225k on mine and all the electronics still work. Might wanna have the code pulled for your CEL

If it turns out not to be a fuse, I would look at the switch itself or the wiring between the switch and the display next.

Urgh, guess it's not a fuse. I pulled 22 which is a 7.5 from the passenger side fuse box and it was fine. I even swapped it for a 7.5 from another can and still nothing. I have no clue where to start to fix this.

Also, there is no check engine light on. I had the key in the accessory position for the picture.
