Vais question
Happy New year all. I'm getting ready for my road trip to the Midwest and I'm looking in to getting the ML for my 04' LS430. I did some digging around to see which one i need but where can I buy it? And is that the only place to purchase it? I just want to be able to watch movies from my iPod classic. That said I need the ML+ with iPod out?

I believe you are correct. However, I don't think youre going to be able to watch the movies with the car in motion. I could be wrong though. I bought the regular MML from Vaistech driectly for 250. pretty happy with it. I wouldnt care so much about watching movies on the 04 screen. The resolution stinks.

You would have to go directly to Vais Tech to order by phone ( see attachment). You will not be able to watch movies while the car is in drive. Also, the MML+ may not work on the 04 LS430; I had to purchase the Sl2vi for my 06 LS430.

Are you sure Sl2vi not playing back ipod movies in motion? Cos it feeds screen directly in video playback mode, bypassing any car's restrictions on video output. Or did vais implement additional safety?

[QUOTE=jmsmiff;7697980]Would it have anything to do with the backup camera, why it wouldn't play movies while in drive?[/QUOTE
I installed a SL2vi in my 04 UL a few years ago. It took me 4 hours to do the job. But, I'm very meticulous and careful. I absolutely love the thing, but really only use it to play music from my iPod.
I did play a video with it from my iPod.
The first step in doing that is "Set the Parking Brake". It is programmed to prevent playing video while moving.]
