Lowered '01 LS430UL Air Suspension with Shorter Rods
Guys,
I will be lowering my air suspension by shortenning sensor rods in front.
Before I will order Dies I want to ask if anyone know metric tread size on the rods.
I was not able to pull them out yet. I found post witch shows home made rods by welding two treaded sides together.
I think to make total new rods from proper material and cut the tread is better.
Can some one verify that Metric size is M6 x 1mm left and M6 x 1mm right handside Die?
If this is correct, I will order them and make few rods. When I will be lowering car I will make pictures and post all material, measurements and where to get Dies, plus my car when done.
Thanks, Later
Kev

If you want to lower your UL on Air suspension, here is the picture using original Rod adjustment . will be making new RODs with Metric size M6 x 1mm left and M6 x 1mm right handside Die to go lower. I just verify that by taken originals out.
Pic below is on Normal air height.

Just bought my 2004 LS430 Friday. Put it on the lift yesterday and did this. It's pretty straight forward...
I removed the links and then grinded down maybe a half inch on each side. Make sure you get the correct die since the threads are reverse on one side. I've done some searching on here and don't see why this would wear out the air springs any faster than the aftermarket controllers.
Good luck! The rear is a simple reverse torx nut.
