Can I add Pentosin lifetime to my current coolant?
I am not sure what is currently in my cooling system, looks red/pink "normal" Toyota coolant. But it's low and I have about a qrt left from my Camry coolant change about 3 years ago.
I've heard that Toyota coolant is actually Pentofrost type fluid, not sure about the lifetime Pentosin been compatible with it though.
Anybody can chime in on this topic? Search returns only unrelated stuff unfortunately.
Thanks!
p.s I would have changed the whole fluid, but I have 90k service coming up soon and I'd prefer to do it then.
I also see that coolant service was done at 31k (not sure why or if I should trust the online service history
PERFORM COMPLETE COOLANT FLUID EXCHANGE - I doubt they have changed the thermostat because it's not listed been changed.

Be sure to use the exact Toyota coolant specified for The LS430. I think there are at least two types of Toyota coolant. I don't know of any reason the online history should not be trusted. Once an entry has been made by the services dept it is almost impossible for anyone to change it. The history that is added by the car owner is subject to updates and change however so that has to be taken with a grain of salt.
My service adviser said the OEM factory coolant was good for 60k miles.

Thanks Jabberwock,
I am also aware of two Toyota coolants red and pink. Don't want o mix them two. I'll call the Lexus parts and find out which one they use and how much is it. I am actually considering just adding some distilled water for next 10k, the amount is pretty much enough to fill half the expansion reservoir so it should not alter the boiling temperature of coolant too much & I don't care about the freezing either.

Stop by your Toyota dealer and ask if they have a copy of the coolant comparison that TCMC provides, and if so, take a look at the photos of long-term results of using the P coolant instead of the proper Toyota. This is, assuming that your Toyota dealer uses the correct coolant. Most do, but not all.
