I need to replace my whole drivers side side view mirror, housing, motor and all. There are a number of them on eBay but apparently Lexus made 3 versions, A, B and C. Most I am finding are the B version though that is still technically compatable with 03-07. But mine is an A model and I've been told I must replace with another A. Anyone know what the difference is?

Thanks CO! PRoblem is, the info in that thread is incorrect. I have an 04 and my car has an "A", not "B". According to that guy, an "A" wouldnt work on my car yet thats what I have.

Do the suggested search and check some of the other threads. Let us know what you find.

Im so tempted to just order a B for my car. No one seems to know what the difference is, everyone seems certain the B is for 04-06 and yet my 04 has A models on it. Im about this close to ordering a B and seeing what the deal is.

You are correct. Some of the earlier built 2004s have type A and later built have Type B.
The letter is on the bottom of the mirror in the circle where the puddle light is.
Mine is built Dec 2003 and it is type A.

Ive still found no answers from anyone on this, and Ive tried a lot of sources.

You might try Sewell Lexus web site and see if they list two different mirrors for your car. If they only offer the B and it replaced the A, then you might assume that it is compatible. Or you could go to your Lexus dealer and ask them about the difference. Surely they would know the answer.

Ive tried Sewell, even had email exchanges with them trying to get an answer to this. No dice, no answers.

A in a circle means it will fit 01-03 and a very few early 04.
B in a circle means it will fit later 04-06.
A and B are NOT interchangable. A mirror has straight mounting and B mirror has slightly slanted mounting.
If your original mirror says A then order A.
It has become very hard to find good used mirrors on ebay and prices for them are through the roof, with $200-300 for a left mirror and $350-500 for a right one. Just go to Sewel and get a new mirror for ~$325 + shipping and prepainted for your car, that is with CL discount. My right mirror is acting up a bit now, eventually I will get a NEW one from Sewel.

Just an FYI, if you have a 04-06 don't buy A circle mirrors. I learned the hard way, they bolt up just fine but you can't see anything. The angles are off.
