Talking 4 weeks into it.

Just got my 02 "stripper model" LS 430. Only 66K miles. This thing is unreal. Even with no "extras" and 16" tires. I'd change the rims but the MXV 4s have more than 35K of tread on them!

I will miss my driving 5 serries BMW. I really will. I WILL NOT MISS the repair bills!

Welcome, If ya wanna keep repairs down the stripper model is the way to go. I have sat in on the BMW forums and decided to keep the tried and true LS.

Maintenance wise the only problem with the LS430 is that you likely won't be at the dealer enough to become first name basis friends with some of the service advisers - but most consider that a very good thing : )

Congrats on the purchase. I bought one about the same time as you and have been extremely happy with my purchase.

When it comes to the German camp I have been there and done that. No more for me, I want a trouble free daily driver and save my efforts for a special interest car. I do wish the LS had a better paint job or mine was white.

Do these "stripper" units come with a chrome pole between the seats? (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
