Had to have shoulder surgery. The Lexus sat for 7 weeks. Flat spots. Along with an oscillating noise that sounded more like a wheel bearing -- but no grinding and no vibration. Stuck with the tires since last April. Dealer found nothing. My experience with older Michelins was that flat spots would even out - the best way to tell is at high speed, along a divider on an expressway, and listen for the "clicks." With the new tires, no noise. But I was advised by a guy in racing that Michelins are a product of where they are made, and be careful! He surmised my problem might be a side shift in a belt - just enough to feed an off-center rotation sound at any speed above 35 mph. Guess he was right; no odd sound with the new tires.

N.B. I see that I am listed as a "Driver School Candidate." Cool. I have taken mandated driver training, taught risk management, drive on an air field, driven cross-country (San Francisco to Atlanta and Miami) a half-dozen times, with i-95 as home, did a little sports car racing when I was really young, and inspect vehicles for road worthiness from fuel vehicles to push-back tugs for pretty large aircraft. Look forward to that "driver school" recommendation.

mounted four brand new michelins late last year and they were horrible. MXV4's The front tires were so bad they had to be returned to the company not for noise but for vibration. No one could get the shake out of the car. Replaced the fronts and its much better but not as good as the ones with 52K that came off. By the way my tires were made in Romania!
