Default Just bought 04 LS 430
Hello all!!! I just bought a 04 LS 430 with 67,xxx miles. Is there any "peace of mind" maintenance I should look into?

Welcome! Enter the VIN into the owners section of lexus.com and verify that the 60K service has been done.

Brake, p sterring, diff fluids check all the filters. when are ya supposed to do the radiator fluid?

I think radiator coolant change is 60k if it hasn't been done before. When you do the engine air filter, take 20 more minutes and clean throttle body, clean the MAF. Also run a can of Techron Plus Concentrate thru gas tank once or twice a year.

Anyone have pictures of the step by step procedure to clean the throttle body? I read through the steps posted by Jabberwock and StanVanDam, but pictures would help me a lot - even if it was just of where the TB is on this car and which hoses need to disconnected.

Welcome! Your Lexus dealer's parts dept. has the carpeted LS430 mats. A number of online vendors have custom carpeted Lloyd mats that fit perfectly and are plusher (for better or worse) than factory. Lexus rubber mats are only available on ebay, etc. as Lexus no longer sells them.

last year i bought a 06 cpo that had 53k miles and i changed the plugs,coolant.all fluids with the exception of the trans fluid,rad cap.that way you know what you got to work with.of course i did all the work myself.
