Default How to remove factory exhaust tips on 04-06 LS430?

Guys need some help. Did a search on CL on how to remove the factory exhaust tips but did not find what I needed to know for the 04-06 LS430. Just got some new exhaust tips from Japan (Pics Below) and would love to install them this weekend. Installation of the new tips looks really easy once I remove the old ones. Your help would be most appreciated.

Well since no one replied to my request I guess I will answer my own question. The factory tips are just pressure fit so just twist them a bit and they come right off. The new tips come with a screw to hold them on but I decided to get them welded on so they won't go missing on me one day.

Anyways here are a few pics of the tips and new black chrome grill too. Enjoy!

The black chrome grille is nice, is that one of those off ebay?

But the exhaust tips are awesome. Really give the rear end an aggressive look.

Honestly that picture above does not due justice to the grill it looks really nice in black chrome. Both items shown were bought on ebay. PM me and I will be happy to share the link since I think CL frowns on sharing ebay links in the public forum. At least they did when I was a moderator.

Really happy with the exhaust tips they fill the cutouts perfectly.

Good question I never really noticed until I just took this picture. Slight angle does match the body line very nicely. Let me know if you want further pics.

Thanks guys for all the PM's I have replied to them all. These exhaust tips are made for the 04-06 LS430 only. As far as I can tell I don't think they will work for the 00-03 and for the member who PM'd about if these would fit a 2nd Gen GS I don't think so since as I recall from my former '00 GS4 the cutouts are too small.

I've been thinking about fitting one of those grilles for a while now. After seeing how yours looks,I think I'll have to buy one sooner rather than later.

Cheers for the pics!

After I took the old tips off and went to the muffler shop the guys there said the best way to get these tips to fit was to cut off the slight turn down from the muffler and weld the inner bracket (See first picture on first post) to the newly cut straight pipe on the muffler. Hope that made sense.

fergo308,

For 60 bucks you can`t go wrong. My old grill was getting pretty beat up from winter driving (salt and sand). Might just swap the old one out at winter time to keep the new one looking its best.

The tips extend further out than the factory ones. Sounds like they don't fit quite right.

Very nice! My exhaust tips are getting quite a bit of buildup and gunk as well. I'll try my best to clean them in the summer, but if it fails you will be receiving a PM!. Are these stainless steel? Would love to know how they look over time.

Yup these are stainless steel. They should keep looking good for a long time. They better considering what I paid for them. LOL

I think they fit perfectly but to each their own. I had the muffler shop install them this way but they can move further in or out based on your preference. If you look at the first pic below (excuse the messy car and the slippers..lol) of the factory tip you can see the exhaust coming off has a bit of a curve. Here are a few more pics you be the judge.
