Default Tire fitment question

I have 235/50/18's on my factory 5 spoke 18" wheels. The factory recomends 245/45/18's. I like the way the the 50's look on the car and how well it fills up the wheel well. So do you guys think that 245/50/18's will fit without rubbing? I need tires.

I would not recommend going with a 245/50/18 as it is 3.48% larger than the factory recommended tire. Generally you should be okay within 3% plus or minus OEM sizing. You may hear otherwise but those are my two cents.

So would you say to stick with 235/50/18's? I would rather have sidewall than width.

Yeah, but even 235/50/18s are about 1/2" taller than stock. So if you are concerned w/ maintaining speedo accuracy, 225/50/18s would be within .1" of the stock 225/55/17s.

I am presently running 225/50/18s up front and 245/45/18s in back. And the ride is quite comfy even w/ max performance tires.

I just think the 50's look so much better.
