Default Fixed Telescoping Wheel

My telescoping wheel didnt work it just squeaked.

I took off the cover and noticed it did move but only about 1/4"

I started to manually move the rod and and noticed the range move motion increased when using the switch as I manually turned the rod to retract the wheel.

It seems the steering wheel had become uncalibrated and thought it was all the way in when it was actually fully extended.

I unbolted the bracket that connected the rod to the steering and used the switch to fully extended the wheel (since it was attached it just spun the rod) and the reattached then bracket. I appear to have a full range of motion for the time being albeit with a little squeak.. I greased the rod and the shaft (hahahaha) and reinstalled everything.

Nice work - post back in a month or two if that is indeed a permanent fix - would be good to know. What year is your LS430?

Update I still have the range of motion but it doest work correctly with the auto retract all the time some times it does some times it doesnt. I suspect it retracts slower then normal. Its workable for now but a swap of the motor may be needed

after months of making the squeaky noise, the automatic telescoping finally stopped. I can still control it manually with the switch on the side though. Looks like a replacement part might be on order soon as well.

Nope, I'm not gonna say it - but it's sure tempting
