^^^ Tires in larger sizes that aren't frequently offered by automakers are generally more expensive because it's more of a specialty product v. mass market. It used to be the same for 18" tires. Heck, I remember when 15" wheels were an upgrade and 16" were ultra high performance. 19" and above were strictly for commercial trucks and buses.

I went with 20s but I still get rubbing when I go over larger bumps or when I carry passengers.

I want to go staggerd, also , are there any known issues with these cars wearing stag. wheels, also will a 20 with a 3.5 lip brush on the front with full lock..will spacers prevent that.....thanks in advance guys
Keep in mind that bigger wheels are prone to bend and put alot of stress on the suspension. Just my 2 cents though.

Thanks sojah...I kinda figure that would have to be the deal if I want max offset, My thing is with the rubbing issues, and if the offset approach has any negative impact on the car's performance, as far as road speed, handling and such...I do expect a little rub here or there once in a while but I dont want a constant rub and a fear to carry the kids and wife total of five, thus Im just trying to ask around to make a well calculate investment in the best suitable wheel package...base on other members experiences with the same LS 430..riding 19 or 20in, and man Im glad for all the advise its so informative

I know the post is a few months old- have you made your choice yet? I have been told that 21' inch are the best fitting for the LS. However I think this is for an extremely modded car. You will lose some ride quality. As one of the guys here posted- 19' and 21' inch tires are much more expensive than other sizes (as much as $400.00 per tire just for the rubber). 20's might rub with people in the car.

I am also looking at adding a set of staggered rims to my LS. I am going with 3 piece wheels and will probably go with 18's or 19's. I know 18's are small but in a nice staggered 3 piece will still look very good and save the ride and a lot of money.

IF you get the right wheels and tires, with proper offset etc, you wont rub on 20s. I am running MRR HR3s in 20 by 8.f with 245/35/20 Toyo Proxes all around and never rub, even with 4 in the car. Its all about getting the right fit, or modding your car to fit the wrong fit. The latter makes no sense to me but does to others.
