Where do you look for used Lexus LS430's?

So far I've checked craigslist, the classifieds here, autotrader cars.com, as well as oodle.com but not seeing many LS430's at the moment. Any other places that you guys look at?

Edit: If anyone has any for sale pm me. Only things I'm not interested is in black exteriors (had one and was too much upkeep for me.) Thanks!

Also try http://www.cargurus.com/ where they evaluate how much the listed price is over or under market value.

Last May I found my LS430 Cl (2002 w/ 41k!) on Craigslist where good deals can be found but have to be moved on quick as the true values go extremely fast. Mine was listed late on a Monday. I called that night and bought it Tuesday after being the first to test drive. He had several inquiries in between but I was the first to view it and after minor negotiating, we came to a fair price (cash) quickly.

Here's another hint re: Craigslist - search under LS430 AND LS 430 with a space between the LS and the 430. You'll sometimes find additional listings in one over the other.

Good luck in your search !

Look on ebaymotors. I've found 2 really good cars on there. I didn't actually purchase though the website, but it allowed me to find cars that were not listed elsewhere.

Sigh, I envy you guys. 15 within 5000km here.

Anyhow, good luck with the search, have you tried using a car broker? I have had some success with them in the past

You may have to expand your search out to further distances. LS430s aren't too common in smaller areas (I had to go to Chicago for mine, about 6 hrs from where I live). They are pretty commonplace in bigger cities.

I used mainly autotrader and cars.com. Cars.com contains many newspaper classifieds. However, some papers may not participate in cars.com so you'll need to check those. Also check any local auto sale publications. (Michigan has one called Wheelerdeeler.) Check for new ads daily.

Remember that it takes most dealers about a week from the time they get the car until it gets listed online. Many dealers use a 3rd party company that comes in once a week, takes pics, and places the ads. Stay in touch with local Lexus and quality used car dealers to have them call you when a possible car comes in.

As CarGuy stated, don't be afraid to look nationally to find the right car. They simply didn't sell that many of these cars each year. It's not like your buying a domestic car. I live in Michigan and found my car near Seattle. A local CL member (Airtime) checked out the car for me and suggested his independent Lexus mechanic to inspect the car.

Cars.com can give you listings for the past 1-3 days. Look nationwide and enjoy the one way drive home. tarvelocity and such make it easy to afford a one way ticket

Yeah, Open the door for a national search. Im in MI. and I bought my car in Annapolis MD. did the travelocity one way ticket and drove home. THAT was fun!

My method was a little different. My LS400 was totaled and I needed to find a car quickly. I used the Lexus website to search the preowned inventory of Lexus dealers nationwide (www.lexus.com/dealers/elite-dealers.html). Looking for non-CPO cars (due to price) I had to go dealer by dealer and search the preowned inventory. Since I was going to have to buy sight unseen, I was very careful with the carfax and maintenance history.

After an evening of searching, I found a few candidates. Using the link provided, I emailed my top couple of choices. I received a call the next morning from the dealer that had my first choice. After a couple of hours and emails that included maintenance history and detailed pictures, a deposit was placed on the car.

The 2002 LS430 Ultra arrived 2 weeks later (last day of my rental car coverage) and I am very happy. Better than advertised, the deal holds up well against what I see on sites like Auto Trader and Cars.com. Those sites do a nice job but only captured a fraction of the cars I viewed by going direct to the dealer sites. Also, try calling a dealer and tell them what you are looking for and they may be able to find it for you. Good luck.

You can also try just googling 2004 LS430 a couple of times a day - that will bring up some misc ads. Leave no stone unturned : )

Found mine on Craigslist. The guy was getting a divorce and needed to sell quickly. He put 3 poor cell pics online, but the car was a peach. An 03 (57k miles) which I bought last July for $14k (He was asking almost $17k). I looked for 2 months as I wanted Blk/Blk. Be patient, but be prepared to jump once the car is up for sale. You must move quickly on those that can't market properly, and that need to sell quickly.

I found my car on Autotrader only after I expanded my search to 300 miles! It turned out I found it on the West Coast of Florida (I live Southeast Fl) and the guy actually drove it within 45 minutes of my house to view! It all worked out too. Sometimes we can get lucky but to find these cars the search should be expanded.
