Question about 04+ LS430 Foglight

hey guys i was wondering has anyone try to fix this problem that lexus never thought of doing. Putting a bulb or led in the foglight corner where it has no light be begin with? i find it very werid why they didnt think of this sooner  ive searched but i found nothing but a melted foglight housing. this is what im talking about.

There was a thread on Lexusownersclub about putting a bulb behind the dummy lenses by the fog lights of a 98-00 LS400: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums...=1&#entry24179

I thought about using the dummy lens on my 2000 LS400 for an additional turn signal but there is not enough room in the light housing - probably same for the LS430 - for a bulb large enough to emit useful light.

The Japanese market 2004 Celsior fog light unit has a corning light where the U.S. 2004 LS430 fog light unit has the dummy. In the Japanese market 98-06 Celsior the part of the fog light unit where the cornering light goes has a much deeper housing that accepts a fairly large bulb -- bulbs look about the size of a taillight bulb and put out a LOT of light when cornering.

I don't know if the Japanese market 04-06 Celsior fog light assembly would fit a U.S. market 04-06 LS430 -- the diagram of the Japanese fog light looks like it is a different shape than the one for the U.S. market -- see attached -- but the diagrams sometimes don't show the exact shape of parts.

Yeah that would be nice. My caddilac had that feature really usefull when turning corners at night. Seems like a lot of work for a small project,( fitting bulb and wire it to work correctly) but well worth it. Sorry i couldn't answer your question GL.

Or you could completely modify the foglight by adding a clear lens, projector and even leds ;), this is just a prototype, proof of concept if you will. This is an 01-03 foglight but you can clearly see the space where the bulb should go.
