Default lost keys

Been reading threads all weekend & still cannot come up with an alternative to getting the ECM reflashed & hoping someone might have a better suggestion...

Wife lost her remote keys over the weekend. The only other key we have is the valet key. I was hoping the valet key could be cloned, but it doesn't look like that's an option.

thanks for looking!

Are both master keys lost?

Also, check with the dealer with your model year \ vin as I remember something about a change that did not require a reflash.

I'd be doing everything I could to find the lost key - maybe issue small reward, post lost signs, etc. New ECU and Keys is gonna be a high $$$ item. Good luck.

That sucks. To the best of my knowledge, the ECU has to be replaced if both keys are lost. Found that out when a tint shop lost a key to my 400 and it was my only key. When I told them they were buying an ECU, they managed to find it.

I received one master and one valet when I bought my LS from a BMW dealer. I paid to have my Lexus dealer source a new master fob and program all three fobs (they said they needed all three fobs to program a new master fob). I put one master fob and the valet fob in my regular storage place for spare keys.
