I give up - how to remove Low Tire Warning from 2004 LS430
I give up - I've read the manual and looked all over - I've disconnected my battery for 5 mins. No good. My low tire indicator still comes on.
Note when it first came on it was completely legit (we went from 110F air in AZ to 40F air in WA) - filled up tires to be 32PSI. Indicator didn't go out.
How on earth do I reset this thing and turn it off? My tires are fine...

Bah - yah I took my flashlight and crawled under there - sure enough, tire and SMART resets, just WAY under there. Thanks for reminding me - when I was looking through the manual, the diagram made it look like it was... easier to find.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I had a mysterious low tire pres on my way back from when I first picked the car up. My dad and I checked the tire pressures and they were all about the same 32 psi or w/e the car required. I accidentally turned off the smart key when reaching down there to reset mine (it hasn't come on since). If your smart key stops working right, then you know what happened

Thanks for the reminder of what the second button is. I was under there turning off the SmartAccess to minimize parasitic current draw while my car is mostly stored during the winter.

Pressing the under dash reset button does not always correct the problem.
You also need to re "calibrate" or "initialize" (I think that was the word used) when you add new tires.
Can't remember exactly how it was done, however.
Best of luck!

I appreciate the fact that Lexus has this feature, but...
Does anyone else find it stupid, that the button is hidden? Shouldn't it be just another button labeled on the dash?

Maybe Lexus wants you to take it to the dealer so they can charge you to push the secret button. Sorta like the vehicle customization items that have to be changed using the dealer's diagnostic computer instead of via an onboard menu.

what U should really do is pump that PSI to correct pressure and the light will turn off within 1 or 2 second.
I pump mine up to 35psi, leave it some room to go down to 33psi (the sticker beside the door).

Unfortunately this doesn't work on my 2004 LS430 Ultra. I put the PSI to the exact level it was supposed to be and it didn't reset; I had to physically hold down the tire button to get the warning light to go off.

The TPMS system on the LS430 is based on changes in tire rotational speed rather than pressure sensors. The indicator won't go out if you just fill up the tire. I believe that if you drive the car after airing up a tire, the sensor should go out.
I like this old-style method because you don't have to buy additional pressure sensors for winter wheels and go through the deflate-inflate x 4 song-and-dance every time you change wheels.

Another advantage of our system is that you never have to replace all the pressure sensors when the batteries in each wheel sensor go dead in 6-7 years.

Where exactly is the "low tire" rest button?
Where exactly is the "low tire" reset button? Is it under the dash on the driver's side? Is it obvious? Is it labeled? What is the process, do I turn on the key and hold the button until it dings? Thanks.
