LS430 Air Suspension noise
I hate to post another thread about the dreaded LS430 UL Air Suspension, but I can't seem to answer my question with the other threads.
I have a 2002 LS430 UL and when I start the car and back out of the garage I hear a noise that sounds like a compressor or pump. The noise goes away after about 30 seconds and then I won't hear it again usually until I start that car again.
I know the noise has something to do with the air ride because if I hit the height button while hearing the noise, the noise is disturbed for a moment, then continues on. So, does anyone know what this might be?
I haven't noticed a difference in the ride really, and I haven't noticed a dipping of the car to the front passenger side, where the noise seems to come from.
Has anyone else experienced this noise? If anyone can shed some light on this that would be really great. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I was hoping someone here could help me out. I have an 02' UL with 120,000 miles. I went for my first tire rotation and balance on my Michelin tires. After the rotation i noticed a noise coming from the rear tire that sounds like a "wah wah wah wah wah" wobbling sound. I took it back to ask what was going on and they said it wasn't the tire but most likely the bearing. They also said one of my struts was bad. What are the symptoms for failed air struts? Is the noise the bearing you think? i suppose ill take it in to an independent shop that specializes in Lexus/Toyota. What should I be expecting to pay? Thanks so much!

It does sound like you have a bad wheel bearing. I just had to get the front passenger wheel bearing assembly replaced. It happened when I hit a curb. The noise will only get worse and if you do not replace it, it will only lead to more problems. It cost me around $650 to replace after labor.
