Sun Roof Plastic Piece Loose?
Since I bought my car, I have noticed that the black plastic piece below the sun roof is loose on one side. Unlike the driver's side, it does not fit securely against the glass. The passenger side hangs down and causes rattles. Does anyone know if it snaps up or how to secure it?

Yes, there are metal clips about 5 or so that run across the panel. The outermost one on the passanger side is a problematic one it seems, as my car was just in for a rattle fix, and that exact spot would not go back into place properly.
What you need to do is slide the glass open about a third of the way. Continue to pry the plastic part gently all the way to the drivers side, then slide the part towards the front of the car and pull out out and over the roof of the car. Get some foam tape a couple of pieces near the clips. Don't over do it though, because you wont get it to stay on properly if there is too much foam.
Replacement is the opposite f the removal. use a set of needle nose pliers if neccesarry to squeeze the clips. Sometimes if they are too wide, it will cause clip to not enter the hole in the metal frame of the glass, which will cause the panel to not catch. Hope this helps. This solved my rattling completely. Good luck.

I messed with it for a sec the other day, but it didn't budge. Are you supposed to slide the plastic piece towards the driver's side or front of the car to pry it off? I'm going to try again soon.

Start with the area that is already loose and pry apart methodically. There is no lateral give to disengage the clips. Use a pry tool and and attack it from the side facing the windshield after you have opened the roof. If you don't have a pry tool wrap a butter knife with tape. The clips are pretty tight being that they haven been disengaged before. Give the piece a little more torque. It will give. But yes, it's hard to give it to much force in fear of breaking it,
jut use common sense and you'll be fine.

You need to unclip it straight down, and then slide it back and out of the open roof.I know what you mean. it is indeed a very tight squeeze with not much play. I never said it wasn't a PITA
