Default Option Racing non Led red/clear vs JDM

Hey guys, I just bought an 01 silver, nav Ls430 a week ago. I had the same car in black 5 years ago and sold it to a friend so I could focus on a house. I was the best car I've ever owned for a brief period of time. Now that I have my house, I can now buy toys again

I was the 1st one to try the 04 taillight on a 01-03 model. Unfortunately the clear strip didn't line up 100% with the inner lights but it looked ok. And I bought the first Euro chrome grill which a waste of money at $500. Now I see them for sale on ebay for $80

Anyways, seems like the led taillights are giving people headaches over the taillight warning message so I want non Leds. The JDM ones on ebay are about $430 shipped !! I know those are oem quality and the prices have gone down. Those are my last resort. Right now I am tracking down the ones by Option racing. Those go for about $250-$280 but it appears they make have been discontinued.

Can anyone help me track them down at the best price and/or share some feedback on those taillights. I did use the search function but could not get clear answers.

I've got to do something about the orange strip which makes the car look sooo dated. Just put on the 5 spoke 18's which instantly freshed up the look.
Still an amazing car to drive.

I'm dissapointed in the option racing leds work for like a good 6 months then bulbs were blowing everywhere. As far as warning on dash didn't get any of those. I do miss the look of led and clear strip. I say if you want less of a headache convert you rear end too 04-06, but is expensive. But then you could go jdm route if its oem quality. Do the jdm nonled come with 2 or 4 pieces cause the inner trunk clear strip is still kinda dull on 01-03 model. I took apart my option racing leds and I'm going to try and put new leds inside when I motivate myself to do it. I shouldve just brought an 04-06 model but oh well can't complain.

I recently just took my Option Racing LEDs off my LS. I kept getting a tail lamp failure and I just got tired of the "ding" every time my lights would come on.

Maybe the resistors are bad, but I'm not sure. I've debated on keeping them and making my own LED tails, or just selling them to a forum member.

As for the OEM tails... I personally, after taking my LED tails off, like the OEM look, but I too need to replace the orange corners.

I have never had a problem with my Option Racing LED tails. You will get warning lights if you do not have resistors though. Mine came with them.
