Default Remove Calcium Deposits on Windshields

There are many tiny white spots on the windshield of my LS, very annoying during sunny days, I suppose they are calcium deposits.

I tried several cleaners but could not get them off, anything you can use to remove these nasty white spots safely? I just want a squeaky clean windshield; I thought about using white vinegar but the smell is horrible and not sure about the result.

Thanks!!

Try (on a small area first) a wet rag w/some baking soda, then rinse well. It's non-abrasive, and great for cleaning any glass you don't want to scratch. Don't tell the wife, though, or she'll have you taking the spots off the shower doors next.

I doubt it's calcium deposits, it's most likely minute pitting. My LS has it also, on direct sun light days, it's like the galaxy on my windshield. My '92 Integra has same thing. I don't think anything will help pitting.

i agree its micro pitting on the windshield. i had the same thing happen to me thinking it was dead bugs. the way you can tell is run your nail over those spots. see if it catches or dips into the hole. there isnt much you can do if its pitting other than replace it.

If they are water spots, Stoners Invisible Glass cleaner should get them off. It works on my windshields. This problem has grown worse in recent years due to the greater use of lawn sprinklers, many of which use well water.

you can also use a 50/50 mixture of Isopropyl Alcohol and Distilled Water.

LOL.

Thanks, I will try all the kind suggestions here and not tell wife a thing. Everything on a need-to-know basis.

Hopefully it is not micro pitting, our car doesn't see highways that often with only 40k miles, and it is always garaged.
