Beatsonic on non-nav non-ul does not retain steering wheel volume control
I have finally completed installation of a pioneer HU with beatsonic on non-nav and non-UL 2001 model and realized that my steering wheel control does not work. I first thought that the beatsonic SLA23 unit is bad (bought used from ebay) but then realized that none of the threads here or the beatsonic product page claimed that it will retain steering wheel volume control for non-nav models. The one used with nav model says this on the web page:
Volume button on the steering wheel control adjusts gain on the factory amplifier.
But the SLA23A for non-nav does not mention anything such.
Anyone with non-nav who went this route please confirm?

It doesn't work and won't ever work with an off the shelf solution. Period. I think their documentation must be wrong because I've never heard of the steering wheel controls being retained with an aftermarket setup on our cars.

This is why I went with a VAIStech solution (Sl2Vi, specifically), as they retain steering wheel and all other factory controls by hijacking the factory system's unused minidisc (MD) function. Full system integration for audio, but no steering wheel controls for videos, as far as I can tell anyway.
