LS430 wouldn't start...
Hi Folks,
I just got my 2001 LS430 ultra and love it! When I picked her up she started right up. Drove her 15 miles or so to a gas station and filled her up (took the keys out of ignition). When I tried to start her up, she just wouldn't crank. I could hear the starter clicking but the engine would not turn (power and displays were looking ok). I tried the rapidly turning the steering from side to side approach, but that didn't do the trick. Then finally, jump started it using jumper cables. So I thought it must be the battery and went to the local Autozone. They told me that the battery was like new and was showing a good charge. I am really confused now. Why did the car suddenly die, and if it wasn't the battery then what was it? Should I change the battery anyways for peace of mind? Thanks! Viper |
Are the battery cables secure? I'd try cleaning the battery terminals / clamps and re-torquing them.

I think Campisi is right on the money.
You've got a beautiful ride! |
If the Autozone loaded tested using their machine, the result should be pretty accurate. You probably won't need a new battery. Check both terminals and also the ground point.
