Default Question on smog sensor.

Does anyone know where the sensor for the auto smog feature is located and if so, can it be cleaned or replaced easily? It seems to me for some reason the feature reacts kinda sluggishly lately even when its on its highest sensing setting. Kind of annoying when get behind that big dump truck thats spewing black and brown exhaust from its tailpipe and the a/c control doesn't switch to recirculate. Just when i move from behind the truck is when it wants to switch and by that time my lungs are full! Not a big complaint because i can always switch it myself but as you know these type of cars makes us sort of lazy lately plus i just want it to work.

Have you adjusted the sensor for maximum sensitivity? You can do that thru the Nav screen.

The smog sensor is located behind the front grill in front of the radiator off to one side of the hood latch mechanism and supported by the top and midline supports.

I was absolutely amazed with this smog feature. Coming home last night I got behind a modified Honda Civic road racer, the driver of which decided to show me how fast it could accelerate. With a large cloud of burning oil coming at me, I thought I would need to roll down the windows to purge the air. But my car quickly switched to recirculate and I hardly smelled any smoke at all. I could see the recirculate light come on then about a minute later, when the racer was gone, it switched back to outside fresh air. Left me pretty impressed thinking "smart LEX"!!!!

Ok, I am a new LS430 owner. Maybe it should not have surprised me? Still impressed.

Whats next? Shields in case of nuclear attack?
