2004 LS430 sport suspension , I am think of getting a light tint put on my windshield. Just checking on any issues that would make it a problem on this car beside it being illegal ??

I also have it. There shouldn't be an issue unless you go too dark. I have 20% on the rest of the windows and 35% on my front. I probably would have went 15% on the sides but it was already tinted when I bought the car. I wouldn't go much darker than 35% on the windshield.

I think i am going with 50% tint on the front windshield, 35% looked way to dark. Then at night it will be a little darker ,
It's not just the darkness that makes it more difficult to see, it's the reflectivity of the film. Unless the film is one-quarter of the wavelength of light in thickness, light will reflect off the surface, making it more difficult to see. This is how anti-reflective optical coatings work. In most states, it's illegal to have window tint on the windshield below the AS1 line.

Wow I am a geezer so I already have problems at night seeing out of the regular windshield in the dark - particularly in rain and bad weather, etc.
I do understand tinting the other windows/glass to achieve a look but I don't understand tinting the windshield - making it even harder/darker to see at night so the car can look cool. Not a great idea.
Good thing nobody wants to pimp their airplane windshield. It would be pretty exciting landing at night in the rain with a cool looking tint on the windshield.

The tint on my windshield helps a lot with glare from the sun. I hardly ever have to wear my sunglasses anymore. It's obviously a little harder to see out at night but not bad.
