Squeaky driver's door
I recently bought the car (05 LS430 Premium, no auto-door closers) and after a rain the driver's door would squeak when opening/closing. Now it squeaks more often and seems to be coming from the top hinge.
Any suggestions as to what should be used on the hinge? I have silicone spray I use for trunk-lift spring squeaks on the STi but I wanted to use the right thing and hopefully find a permanent fix to this. |

White Lithium grease is usually used for auto hinges, hood hardware, etc. Walt |
WD 40 fixed my squeaky door

i have the same exact problem but i was thinking to myself that mine only does it after it rains and then i read that urs is the same as well, that it too funny.
i will try to spray some wd40 on mine but i always forget because it only does it for like a day or 2 after the rain and by this time i've forgotten about it. |

Like WD-40, silicone spray will also work for a short while. Be sure to use the straw. As mentioned earlier, white lithium grease is the longest lasting solution.

I am glad my door isn't alone in its temperament. I am all for long-term solutions so White Lithium it is. I figured I'd let it dry out before adding it and maybe sealing in some moisture.

Not sure if you are refering to the body colored hinges or the slim black gizmo in the middle but when i bought my car and checked the carfax, the only thing that was reported that had gotten replace was the front drivers door accuator. Maybe the previous owner never applied anything when it was sqeaking and just let it fail. I hope that you can fix/solve this problem without having to replace anything. Don't know the cost of a replacement since he was still under warranty but im sure it's not pretty. Just my two cents!

Specific car uses for different lubricants (Note warning not to lubricate trunk struts):

For me I believe it's the top painted hinge. I don't have door-closers.
