Default LS 430 Interior Package with Comfort Leather Trim

Hello -

I am a new member - over the weekend I purchased a CPO 2005 LS 430 and am very stoked about this car - what a big, fast comfortable ride!

On the window sticker it has a $1460. option called the Interior Package with Comfort Leather Trim - can anyone tell me how this differs from the standard interior? The interior color is called ecru

Thanks!

Mike

First of all, let me be the first to congratulate you on your purchase and welcome you to clublexus!

I am guessing you purchased an LS with a custom luxury or Ultra luxury package. The leather is slightly different and extends to more places (arm wrests, center console, etc.)

You can view the different packages in the FAQ forum which can be found sticky'ed on top of the LS430 forum.

"On the window sticker it has a $1460. option called the Interior Package with Comfort Leather Trim"

what was the Total MSRP on the window sticker? If you only have that option, you have Modern Luxury Package (which is the standard package, pretty much). Congrats!

I believe ecru was only available on CL and UL models. That said, a number of cars listed as ecru by used car dealers are really cashmere.

From pics I've seen, I believe ecru interiors have light colored seats and contrasting, darker carpet.

i'm not sure about the type being different but there is more of it, and with that being said it is in a few additional places that the non extra package cars will not have the leather and will have just some hard plastic pieces i figure.

i thought ecru was only on UL's personally and when i was looking for a UL with ecru i noticed a lot of places listing their interior as ecru when in fact it was not. boooo.

Default CL leather

Hello all, I am on the hunt for an 05 or 06 CL. I just had a few questions...not to beat a dead horse or anything, but as far as the leather goes...does the CL have an Automatic leather upgrade? Also, does anyone know how the colors of the leather relate to the names ie.Ecru Thanks a million!

But you did BEAT THIS DEAD HORSE back to life...

Going CL is automatic upgrade in leather to either Ecru or the black semi-analine. Just better leather to rest your rears on and more of it, around the dash and center console.

The CL and UL packages in 04-06 also required a leather upgrade:

- Ecru and Saddle - comfort leather about $1400(?) Ecru is a very light beige leather, almost off-white, with darker beige carpets. Saddle is an orange / brown leather with black carpets.

- Black - Semi-analine leather about $2100(?)

The upgrade was automatic, but you paid for it in addition to the CL or UL package.

The standard leathers (non CL and non UL) include black, cashmere (darker beige than ecru and the leather matches the carpet), and gray (light gray). If you have cooled seats (all packages including premium, ML, CL, and UL) the seat leather is perforated.

Gotcha. So say for instance I found a silver CL and it has grey leather does this mean it is regular leather?

If the car is an 04-06 and has gray leather, it would not be a CL or UL unless it was customized in some way. CLs and ULs only had black, ecru, or saddle interiors. If you see a car with gray leather and nav, you'll know it's a ML.

I spent months reviewing national LS430 ads. (I still review a national Autotrader search for LS430s weekly for fun.) I learned that dealers, even some Lexus dealers, don't know / care what trim level the cars are. The only way to identify premium / ML / CL / UL is from the pics. Even then, poor pics may make the identification inconclusive. Then there are dealers that post stock pics or have multiple cars for sale, but only post one set of pics.

Thanks, this explains a lot. Now I just gotta wait for the right deal to come along...hmmm i wonder why the black semi-aniline is so much more expensive? Is it the feel or the color?

Good question as to why the black semi-analine was more expensive. One sit in a UL with the black leather sold me on holding out for a CL with that interior.

I dont knwow where else to ask this but I have a question about the wood trim. Is it random as far as what wood color they put with specific color leathers? I know they generally use the same color but sometimes the wood looks a bit different. For example, with the black leather sometimes the wood has a dark border and almost fades into black, other times it is just the solid color. Are there any specific years or models they do this on or is it just random?

Go to the FAQ thread and follow the links to the sales brochures by year. In the back of the brochures, there are color chips and what interior colors and woods go together.

The differences in the walnut in cars with black interiors are probably due to the trim level in 04-06:

- Premium & ML had walnut with black interior
- CL and UL had antique walnut with black interior (has the black highlights toward the edges)
