Does anyone know if the front cabin filter door can be ordered separately from the entire fan housing? The part I am describing is behind the panel in the glove box. It's the white plastic door you must remove in order to remove the cabin filter. I broke the one in my car tonight being a little too heavy handed. Thanks.

 

Yes, you can order just the door. I broke one of the tabs when running/pulling a wire next to it.

The door costs around $8. The lexus parts dept might tell you that you can only order the whole housing for $100 or more. But tell them you have a 2001-2003 and they will be able to find just the door. Don't worry, it's the same part as for the 2004-2006.

 

Thank you very much for responding to my posting. Yes, that is what my dealership told me this afternoon; I had to order the entire housing. When the lady looked up the door for the 2001-2003 she was able to order just the door. She is concerned the part may not be available any longer, at which point Lexus would automatically cancel the order.
I don't know what my options are at that point.
