Default lexus lettering on Calipers

All,

great, great info on this thread. I think I'll do the red for my calipers on my 05 LS. one thing I'm not clear on....the lexus lettering and logo, was the done freehand with white paint or was it a sticker (source?) The white lettering just makes it look all that much better. Thanks!

i was thinking about doing mines soon after just putting on some much more open 19's that show off the stock rotor and caliper a little to much. i have a slightly different question though. my rotor is madddddd filthy looking so is there a trick to getting it clean, like sanding or some cleaner or what?? it looks a lot like the one in the pic i borrowed from an earlier post in this thread, minus the red caliper

this area in this pic where the arrows point to is the problem spots that i would like to get cleaned, any suggestions??

i used; fine sand paper to get the rust off then, i washed with soap and water then dried, i used news paper and painters tape to cover the disc contact area, cut around the non-contact area you want to paint i used (flat black protective enamel from rust-oleum). once paint is dry remove the tape and you are going to spin the disc to expose the area not painted place tape back on to get to the area you couldn't due to the caliber.sorry i don't have pics of process only finished product.

To paint that section I prep'ed it similarly as 06~ULTRA description, but instead of using soap and water, I used brake cleaner. In addition, for paint, I used the same caliper paint, but in black instead.

hmmm... so you used regular black, and 06 UL used flat matte black. difficult decision. thanks for giving me even more choices now now i just need to find the time to dedicate to this project. it may be a one corner a day and a 2 corner per weekend project.

i'm going to do each corner one at a time: sand down nasty part (non contact area) of rotor and clean + paint, then clean + paint caliper + apply stickers (maybe, really not a sticker kind of guy), i figure each corner may take 2+ hours what with the taping, sanding, and painting parts + removing and putting back on the wheels.

Check ebay. I got mine off someone who offers stickers on ebay. Looks like others have as well, since it looks exactly the same.
