Mercckl6, the "hack" will depend on the map version you are currently using. And by hack, do you mean by hardware (coastal tech's lockpick or Vaistech) or by manually each time?

mercclk6 Mar 4, 2009 05:15 PM

no i mean the ability to play dvds though the navi my ver is 4.1 its an 05 ls

The GS and IS "hack's" you're referring to are for a later generation ML system that plays DVDs. The LS430 ML is an earlier version that doesn't natively do DVDs.

You'll need some aftermarket device to bring the video signal in like the Navtool or lockpick video input (and of course something to play it on).

Recent GB posted https://www.clublexus.com/forums/clu...group-buy.html, note this only gets the video signal in

what do i need in order to play dvd THRU FACTORY navi in a 2001 ls 430

you need a dvd converter... i have one in my car... all i neede extra was a dvd player... it goes in between the wiring harness and the navigation unit in the trunk, and it operates off of a switch.... but to get sound you could use a fm modulator... i have a full system in my car so i just hooked it up straight through it... i will take some pics and post them later
