Geez, first So Philly, now you!

Cracked rims?? +1

Yep, double rims. Hid a pot hole hard and both front and rear got cracked. One of those pot holes that was filled with water so it was basically invisible on a rainy. I felt it too, a bone jarring hit.

Unfortunately, rim are no longer manufactured so can't buy new ones. Getting these repaired locally tomorrow from a well known place that specialize in fixing these. I know its not perfect but it'll save me $2800 ($1400 x 2).

That's the price of riding on 20's :)

Should be zero down time, fix while I wait, guess there is a little bit of down time. About an hour to hour per wheel or hour an a half if its bent which they can straighten also.

No damage to car at all. Not even the tires are damaged (which kind of sucks because I have the Discount Tires replacement tire guarantee which I've used before. Super cool, brand new tires when they can't fix it.) Just the rims unfortunately, otherwise if the car was damage, I would claim it under insurance as I bought a rider for the aftermarket wheels also.

Cost of repair shouldn't be too bad. About $150/each, then mounting, balance, and tax. So in all, under $400. But, I could of used that for some nice new exhaust tips :)

blacksc400 Nov 10, 2008 05:42 PM

Cool, so the air suspension endured the impact too! Nice to know. :)
