Automatic Wipers nearly made me poop myself!
So on the way to work today, I crossed the Dumbarton Bridge. All of a sudden my wipers start going crazy! I knew the auto wipers was a feature but since it really hasn't rained after I purchased it, I hadn't really looked into the feature much.
Well it turns out a bug had smashed into the senor on the window which must have triggered the wipers.
So here I am on the bridge (which is a little narrow) with my wipers going crazy and me trying to drive, not crash, and figure out how to turn this guys off! lol.... was kinda amuzing to me so I thought i'd share.

The washers don't follow general convention either. I just got my LS and kept pulling the wiper arm to get the washer fluid going. It just wiped and wiped but no motor sound whatsoever. At first, I thought that maybe it sat at the dealer too long and the fluid dried. So, I filled it up and it took maybe one cup and was filled. So I thought "oh great, the motor is busted." So I read the manual... there is a button to press for fluid and pulling is for "mist" UGH.... DOH

I also thought my washer pump was broken and went as far as pulling up the diagram off the Sewell parts list to figure out how to replace the pump - or replace a cracked tank. I have owned 4 previous Toyotas and the pumps always worked by pulling the arm. Well finally figured it out after the tank only took a few ounces of fluid and I sat down and actually looked at the control arm....
Both were completely "Homer Moments" - DOH!
