any resolution to this problem?

I ask because for some really odd reason, this happened to me in the past two weeks with both of my vehicles. First was my land cruiser out on a trail. Came around a turn and the dang thing just cut off and i heard silence as i coasted to a stop. No lights nothing. Thought i had blown a fuse or relay. Got out, and the battery terminal was loose. Tightened it down and all was good.

Well, a week later my ls400 did the same thing. I popped the hood and got out. Sure as heck the battery terminal was loose. Tightened it up and have had no issues since.

Just FYI.

I had the same problem also with the loose battery cable. My GS300 dies at the top of the hill and after checking, found my battery cable to be loose. After re-tightening the battery cable to the terminals, it never happened again.

Thanks for the suggestions which I have given the service advisor but it seems that at the Autonation version of Lexus only the computer can make a diagnosis. No code therefore they have no idea what the problem is after having the car for 2 days.

I would check and replace the CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor). It doesn't happen to my LS430 but it sounds the same as that of my SL500 (Mercedes) for several months - and dealer couldn't figure out why. After I replaced the CPS, problem fixed.

They called to say it was a poorly functioning fuel pump-hope that solves the proble.

Hard for me to believe that it takes over a week for them to get the part, install it and check it. Al least I got a loaner.

I had a similar problem with my 2004 LS430 during this past summer. I was intermitent and only happened twice. I had a crank but no start condition. It turned out to be a bad fuel pump. replaced the fuel pump and the problem hasn't act up since.

I checked for DTC (diagnostic trouble codes) but there was none in the system.

Good luck.

Default Stalling - I have it also , DAMN

Car has stalled 4 times and into Lexus twice, no codes, no ideas. Seems to be a pattern, weather has to be warm above 75, decelerating and the gas tank has always been 1/2 a tank or less. It has also acted like it was going to die during the last two times where it drops rpm way down and won't respond for 3-4 seconds to a push on the gas and then it snaps back. Did that several times and did not go on to stalling out all the way

It cranks over right away and the last two times it has started right back up, first time had to cool over night and then it started, next time I had to let it sit for 15 minutes after it would not start.

Battery was replaced 8 months ago, connections are tight, have had the car for 4 years and it has 70K miles on it, a 2004. Checked to make sure that the air flow connections were solid

It has occurred intermittantly over the last 4 months and it sure makes it a nail biter to drive it around as you just don't know when it will happen next.

Sounds like Lexus needs to check cam and crank sensor and maybe fuel pump, any other suggestions?

Unhappy Resolved - Faulty Fuel Pump

Lexus of Portland finally got it to fail while under diagnosis, it took setting it out in the sun on a hot day and they could find a fuel pump failure. They work on it for quite a while and I give them a hat tip for their good efforts. The build date on my LS430 was outside of the fuel pump recall and was confirmed by the part number. Dang had to come out of my pocket

So it would only fault out when it was under half a tank and when it was warm

I have had it back for about two weeks and we have had some very hot weather and it runs fine.
