Default Towing and transmission cooler install

I currently have a hitch on my 97, which I use to tow my bike (or two) from NY to NC - about 800 miles with mountains and high speeds.
I never installed transmission cooler on the 97 and it did fine. Like the trailer isn't even there.

Now, I'm in the market for an 05 LS and want to do the same. I know that there has been a discussion about using LS to tow stuff and I have pretty much proven to myself that it can do the duty w/o problems. Have seen much smaller cars tow much bigger loads...

To my question, I would like to install a B&M transmission cooler. Now, there are trans. lines that go into the stock radiator for cooling and my question is do I have to leave those and add separate cooler by splitting off an extra loop or simply disconnect the stock lines from the radiator and run them through the B&M instead.

Another question, and I know that this is a long shot, is whether the hitch from my 97 would fit an 05. Would be nice if it did.

I installed two tranny coolers on Ford trucks while towinbg and their instructions were you pull the exit line from the radiator and feed that into the cooler and out of the cooler back to the tranny,, I mounted the cooler as low as possible to not block the radiators intake,, could be a problem on the LS as mine does not have any lower area that would not be in front of the radiator,,

sorry can't speak about transferring the hitch,,
