Default changed mine

i actually changed mine a couple weeks ago and i really like how it looks. i put in LED's and their nice and bright. not 2 bright but just right. and they dont look stock. just a little hint of blueish color. but really white looking. i didnt really think about just reaching in there. what i did is just take that whole cover off and it wasnt that bad at all. only took like 15 minutes.

Has anyone actually used those bulbs for the tag lights? I know they are the brightest but are they too bright?

I knew that people use them for the other areas but I just thought people were using other (dimmer) led bulbs for the license plate.

I know this might be a dumb question but, how does one get the plastic clips off with out breaking them ? I tried to unscrew them and pry a little on them but, they are on tight and don't just "pop off". I am afraid of breaking them and having a cover that vibrates in the trunk when I drive or hanging when I am in the trunk...

Yea, old thread but, google took me here as I have a plate light out and the dash is yelling at me when driving at night...

If you mean the black plastic plugs that hold the trunk cover on, simply pry them off with a flat-head screwdriver, or use a needle nose plyers to get under the head of the plug and pry it up. .

BTW I changed mine out with super white LED's from ebay and they look gorgeous with my LED tails
For the trunk release handle, there is a metal spring clip that holds a plastic tab on the right side. It is the main one that needs to get freed up. It can be pressed in to release the right part of the rim. Then, the other small tabs will be easier to free up.. The actual trunk release mechanism does not need to be removed. Once the plastic rim comes out, the trunk cover will come down so that you can see the light sockets.
