Default How does the Black Cherry compare with the Matador Red?

How does the Black Cherry compare with the later Matador Red or Nobel Spinel Mica?

I presently have an '06 GS430 in Matador Red. Wifey luvs the color.

Getting in and out is becoming problematic as the wife and I age. We're considering a 06/07 LS if we can find the same, or damn close, color that she really likes.

TIA

I think I saw a Black Cherry Pearl CPO LS at Lexus/LV recently. It's basically the color of, say, a Bing Cherry - it's a very dark, subdued red with only a tiny bit of "gloss". Nothing at all like the Matador Red really, which is pretty aggressive. I do like the color although I don't ever recall actually seeing one on the road.

Also, speaking completely from ignorance - is the GS really harder to get into than the LS?

Thanks on the color info. We looked at them this morning. The current Nobel Pinat, or whatever the red is this week, is more of a subtle metallic plum, not the glitzy Matador Red on the GS.

Yeah, it is-surprisingly so. You kind of get your butt over the seat and 'fall' into it, and hope you don't hit your head, even with the seats adjusted wherever. When you get out, your quads get a good workout. At 68 I'm still able to manage but wifey is having problems.

Also the ride in the '06 GS430 is quite a bit harsher. I expected some of that but not to the degree that happens. Even with the OEM 18" wheels swapped out for 17", with more rubber between the rims and the road, it's still pretty harsh. When you push the 'suspension' button to 'sport' it's like you're on a roller coaster...but it DOES corner. I'm just not that aggressive a driver anymore. We test-drove an '08 LS460 this morning and the difference is night and day.

There is a red '07 LS available in the area, but my local dealer made me a deal on the '08 only $8000 more than the '07, plus no miles. The '07 had 16,000, not a lot but for the difference of only 8K I figured it was worth it.

This LS has everything but the ML system and parallel parking assist, which I'd never use. Our GS had the ML sound system but I thought it was pretty underwhelming, especially for all the extra $$. I'm guess I'm just not enough of an audiophile.

We're going to pickup the red '08 in about an hour (we only had it five months), so I expect I'll be swapping allegiances from the GS4 Forum to this one...yeah, I'm a sl*t

Your a pimp!! A 68 year old man swaping cars in that color deserves the best. All the best man! I hope to be rocking in the same manner at that period of my life.!

I never knew the GS was so much different than the LS. I've never actually been in one, so had no clue.

Also, about the ML - I was not that impressed with it either, so you're definitely not alone. I think I read somewhere that they might have re-engineered it for the 460? Not sure, though.

In any case, congratulations and enjoy your new car!
