Is a LSF in our future?
I was at lunch today with a client and my car came up in discussion. He recently aquired a Mercedes S65 AMG, this guy does most of the construction for JC penny's around the country so he can pretty much do whatever he wants with his money. He loves the interior of my car and is currently copying the Saddle color interior that i have and getting all the leather ripped out of his MB and replaced with the same color i have. We started on a discussion about how fast his car was, i belive he reffered to it as a BAT OUT OF HELL and rightfully so. As evreyone in this forum knows i am obsessed with the thought of preformance upgrades on the LS and rightfully so with it's 278 hp V-8. I said u know what Mercedes has AMG. BMW has their M however they lack a 7 series M, and Audi has thier S and RS Models. But lexus lacks Preformance models. Now with the introduction of the new ISF i'm hoping that lexus will continue to make F models. Becuase i know there is a market for them especially around the younger and excuse my expression "richer" crowd. My friends father recently put his order in for a 2008 Nissian Skyline and will be reciving it with 6 months, suposidly the first one bound for America, " but thats what he said". This is the same man that owns a Audi S8 and Porche Cayanne Turbo, and is thinking about buying an ISF, however he is a bigger man and barley fits in an IS. Lexus i believe is doing very well with trying to keep up with the times. Introducing hybrid technology with the GS, RX and LS 600 models. I just think that they need to start thinking long term. People want high end, powerful, all wheel drive (AWD) cars. Especially in the northeast and upper mid west. Because of the weather conditions and the security factor of AWD. Like whats the reason they can't make an IS 350 AWD? I would scoop one of those up in a heartbeat. I just think that lexus should consider making more F models uspecially GS and maybe an LS. And start offering more cars with AWD technology. Because there is a high demand for both and their competitors have pretty much cornered the market, (MB, AUDI, BMW, MASERATTI even cadillac offers their STS V which is suprisingly very quick. So why wouldn't you try and throw your hand in the ring and knock someones socks off?

It is rummored that the GSF has not been aproved for production yet but will.... USE THE SAME ENGINE AND TRANS AS THE ISF????????!!!!!!! COMON lexus think of somthing diffrent for the bigger car. However, if aproved for production it will not be avaliable till 2012
I don't think there will ever be a car that will top the Maybach 62s but i could be wrong. Ive seen a 57 in a showroom in NYC somewhere and have seen 2 on the road. But owning that car must be like wiping your @#$ with silk. lol

To the contrary of the above posters, Chester Dawson in "Lexus: The Passionate Pursuit" talks of the "F" project. It's been a while since I read this book, but I recall him indicating that the LS will undoubtedly get the F treatment. LS-F, it even sounds cool to say it here.
On another note, has anyone heard that the GS is being replaced with a different model line in the next few years?

Lexus is super conservative. It took them forever to get the IS-F project going so we'll see if they'll even have the GS-F.
So by the time they come out with an LS-F, I'll be on social security and hopefully can still drive by then

Well let's see... if IS-F costs $53,000 and IS350 is $39,000... there's a 36% overcharge for tweaks and redesign of the IS... to make it a "F"
So let's say we start with a $82,000 LS460...
LS-F (if such thing comes to fruition...) will cost $111,520.
Wow, that's cheaper than a LS600hL with Queen Mary Package no?
Unless they make it out of a LS600hL loaded then it would be like $160K!!
Let's see how much my 2nd mortgage would be worth... LOL!
Then again... Keeping my LS430 as is, and getting a Ferrari F430 in addition wouldn't be a bad idea either...if I had that much cash to blow on a depreciating asset.
Afterall, a LS430 already hits 167mph ungoverned from factory...and if I wanted to go faster (like on a slat flat...) LS would be the last car I'd choose to cover it with SALT!!! EEK!
Hummm the IS-F is starting to sound VERY reasonable...
Then again... I'm talking like this while I'm still financing my Prius to pay for all the mods on my LS430!
Hahah! "Something Wicked cometh this way..." And if its a big LS tuned by Formual One Toyota crew...it will surely follow with a LIFETIME of PAYMENTS!!!

An LS-F strikes me as out of the question. The typical Lexus LS clientele are very conservative people who place a high degree of emphasis on refinement, specifically quietness and comfort.
BMW might have their M division, but they make no M7. Why? No real market for it. BMW M customers generally are from the purist crowd and an M7, no matter how good it is, can never qualify as a true purist car. Too big, too heavy - balancing it will be hard.
I suppose Mercedes AMG has discovered a market where an AMG S class is in demand, but they're essentially still S classes with beefed up handling, brakes and sporting capabilities.

I agree there may be no market for it. A M 7-series and a LS-F is like the S65 AMG. From a luxury stand point, you're better off with the top of the line model they offer now and if you want sportyness, BMW M5 or IS-F (GS-F when it comes out). If you want a huge luxury sedan what performs like a sports car it more so you can just say you have one.
Not taking anything away from cars like the S65 AMG but it'd be better to get a regular S-class or a E65 AMG. IMHO.
