Default 04 LS430 smart key problem

Hey everyone..

Long story short, my battery took a dump yesterday. Got it charged and it's back in the car. Only problem now is that the smart key doesn't work anymore.

I cannot lock/unlock the car. Also I could only fire up the car with the key in the ignition. Without the key, it tells me " keys not detected, ". I have also double checked the battery on the remote as well as the smart key disable/enable function located on the bottom of the dash.

I tired searching but no luck.. Anybody can lmk thanks!!!

Under your steering wheel (if you haven't seen it before, stick you head under) there are two buttons.
1. for TPS reset
2. to acticate your smart key.

Try that.

Good Luck!

Did you make sure that the cancel switch button is in the out position and not the pushed in position?

^^ yes. When the smart key button is in the disable position. The key light will not track in the car. Once it is enable the key light will flash, tracking the key.

I ran into the same problem on my s500 . I believe you must have the key in the ignition and hold the lock button contiously until all door unlock . This is the initialze procedure that most factory used when a battery goes out on the key ,it also was the same for my e38 740 hope this help ..

Not sure if it would be helpful or not since I can't actually see the TSB. Maybe your dealer could tell you.
