Hello new ls owner here
Hello, I picked up my 04 ls430 55k miles Saturday. This is my 2nd Lexus my wife currently has an 04 gx470 that she loves. I have an 06 m5 that is my favorite car I have ever owned by far but it is really not a good daily driver and I put a lot of miles on a car. Also with the real estate/mortgage market in the shape that it is and expecting our 2nd child it dosen't make too much sense to keep it. I flew to Florida Friday night and drove 500 miles home the next day and have to say I am very impressed with the vehicle. I have owned a 745li and s500 before and they simply do not compare to this Lexus. I have a few questions and hope you guys and gals could help me out.
1. I have the nav system with the Mark Levinson sound system. Can Bluetooth be integrated into the factory unit?
2. I checked on iPOD integration and was told I would lose my cd changer function. Is this true?
3. I have a sat/am button but cannot access the sat radio. Does my car just not have that option? I assume that would be easy to add.
4. Are there any good extended warranties out there?
5. Any common issues that I need to look out for?
Thank You in advance for your help.
Here is my car I will take some pics of my own tomorrow when it gets tint.

Welcome to ClubLexus, tennls430! Congrats on your LS 430.
And Touring model too! Checking on some of your questions...on the '04 model with NAVI/ML, a number of packages typically also came with Bluetooth, so your vehicle might have it already. Not sure about the iPod integration, might depend on your setup. The SAT button is meant for aftermarket/dealer installation of satellite radio, which may be useful depending on what satellite radio system you choose to purchase. With the other details, perhaps some others here can share more info.
Hope you enjoy your car!

How would I know if bluetooth is already in the car?
I would check to see if the 'telephone' button is on the left of the steering wheel. Furthermore, to access the Bluetooth system on the NAVI, press Option > Information > Telephone on the touchscreen to bring up the dialing screen. There is a 'Settings' button there which takes you to the screens that allow you to pair the phone to your car (you can pair at least 2 phones IIRC).

Nice Car and good price ! You are going to love this car. Looks like you have it all as far as Bluetooth. It just depends on what phone you have as to whether you might have problems uploading your phone book. If you do have problems, post them and we can help you..
It took me a while to figure out my blackberry curve but I eventually got it..
Looks like you have all the manuals. They are very informative and will walk you through most of the bells and whistles.
To get your IPOD working I would invest in the coastaltech ultimate lockpick. It is well worth the $200. It also takes care of the NAV overide hack and lets you watch DVD's on your NAV screen.

I don't know if your car will qualify for a Lexus warranty, since you are past 50k. There are tons of aftermarket warranties. I would go for a very comprehensive one though. I know Lexus is legendary for quality, but there are all sorts of little things that can go wrong... If your car does qualify for a Lex warranty, you can get a 3 year/75k total (Authentic Lexus warranty) for I think $1590-$1690 thru a Toyota dealer up here in MA. They have one that goes up to 100k for a little more.
Bluetooth is definitely in that car.

My 2005 LS430 had 66000 when I bought it and Lexus of Grand Rapids Michigan quoted me $2700 for 3 yr / 36000.
I chose not to get it, as I don't drive that many miles (10K/ yr) and the car had been maintained perfectly by Harvey Lexus in Grand Rapids with all records provided to me at the purchase.
However, If I could get one for $1500 to $1800 I might consider it. I never thought of going to a Toyota dealership..
