Graphics, and interface never change. Only Maps (meaning addition of streets) and points of interests are added.

Is it still like $275 for the latest LS430 DVD? I'd like to get one as mine is getting very outdated here in Vegas, I just still hesitate to pay that much.

Sadly for us.

The Bimmer guys though have gotten the older navi's updated with much higher resolution rendering.

I wish Lexus foresaw this inevitable aging, and didn't cheap out on the LCD's.

when i had the 04 545i, they updated the navi for free for some recall issue, and the new dvd now offered 3d (birdview)... which was pretty cool, and the interface change a little bit as well...

Can someone confirm this or is it in my head. It seems that the 7.1 has smoother fonts and a better scheme to makes it a bit easier to read in both day and especially night viewing? The dark background nights seems way cleaner looking with less jaggering lines.

I have yet to update mine on the '02. It just bothers me that you can buy an entire Garmin Nuvi GPS for less than the cost of a CD. I dont know why they make it so expensive. Probably costs them less than $10 per cd
