I did a quick spreadsheet for some Lexus LS430's -this is the 2005 year data. I wonder is there is a pattern ... I think I see one.
The Red are CarMax, Yellow is EBay 'buy me now' price and the pink are Calif Lexus ( got idea on vacation) dealers advertised prices, the purple X's are AutoLenders.com ( Philly area ), the light blue X's are Cars.com. Most have Nav's
Do you agree with the red line on the attachment - anything below is a good deal ( or of questionable background - like some eBay units with a poor carfax records )
Just how much bargaining can one do on an autotrader or cars.com price ??
A dealer who is registered with Manheim Auto Auction has access to the auction's database with prices that cars are sold for including LS430's. I was at the one in PA a couple weeks ago and purchased an '02 LS430 with navigation for $18,140 with 77,000 miles. Well my dealer friend bought it for me and I had to pay him 10% of the purchase price. Still thought I got a good deal though and both Carfax and Autocheck checks out wonderfully.

ouch, not exactly cheap. I usually pay anywhere from $300-$400 bucs per car.
