I have replaced the spark plugs and unplugged the battery in that order. I have done both but not unplugged the battery then replaced the spark plugs. Will this not work if it was the problem in the first place. Thanks

Ok, I'm resurrecting this old post because I have a similar problem with a little twist and wanted to get your opinion.
I have a 2001 LS430, 139,000 miles and the dash has all the lights showing up - Check engine light is on, red exclamation light is on, VSC off indicator is on, Check VSC. Oh, and no heat (It's now November in Texas and gets a little cool).
Checked the ODB codes and get 0440 and 0115.
This great car was given to us by my deceased FIL and do not know if/when last coolant flush occurred. I checked coolant level in res and rad and both looked very low. I have occasionally smelled strong unburned gas fumes in garage. Will be replacing gas cap since it is 12 years old.
After reading through the many (and great) solutions, looks most like bad O2 sensors and coolant temp sensors.
Any other thoughts, ideas, solutions?
